First Time Guest?
We celebrate your presence and desire that you fully experience the presence of God in worship. We want to assure you that, whoever you are, whether you are in-person or online, it is our goal to show you exceptional hospitality in welcoming you to the faith community of Our Savior’s. To begin this journey, we encourage you to plan your experience so that we can best prepare the way for you and address any unique questions or needs you may have.
What You Can Expect on Sunday Morning?
Our 9:00 a.m. CDT Sunday worship is in the classic style of traditional Christian worship. We sing hymns. Our music is led by our wonderful organist and choir director, Jan Houser. Worship is about an hour.
For those in-person, at 10:00 a.m. (on hiatus during pandemic) there is an opportunity to meet people and share delightful brunch type food in the fellowship hall. Relax. (This fellowship need is currently addressed for both in-person and online participants by a Zoom gathering each Sunday at 4 pm.)
At 10:30 a.m. our modern worship begins which is led by our talented praise band. This worship is driven by contemporary Christian music that you might hear on the radio.
The 10:30 a.m. time frame is also the start of our multidimensional Kids in Christ children’s worship. For in-person folks, people from age 2 through kindergarten are downstairs in the nursery (closed during pandemic). Elementary aged children are upstairs in the children’s worship center. The experience is much like Vacation Bible School if you are familiar with that. There is singing, story telling, games, crafts, etc. For online participation, we provide a private Facebook group access. We promise to take good care of and nurture well your children. Let us know if we don’t exceed your expectations.
Ways To Integrate Daily Life and Faith.
We have several types of discipleship groups available to you. For starters, there’s the Alpha Course on Zoom. It’s on Mondays at 6:30 pm from October 19 through December 28. Alpha examines the basics of following Jesus for daily life. Here’s the Alpha Registration link.
If you like a book study, there’s “How Happiness Happens” on Mondays at 6:30 pm from October 19 through November 23 – also on Zoom. This is a gentle way to explore how to discover more joy in life. Here’s the Book Study Registration link.
Pastor Musselman often does spiritual videos on Facebook Live during the week. A great option for you to join in the conversation is provide your own perspective for his Tuesday segment of “You’re the Theologian.” Here’s our Facebook Page link. You can also find “You’re the The0logian” and many other aspects of our church life by signing up for Our Savior’s Email list.
For children, there’s the Kids in Christ experience which is available at any time online. Our Savior’s has a private Facebook group where this can be found. Just ask for permission to join the Facebook kids group!
In-Person?
There is no dress code. Come as you feel comfortable. There is designated parking for first time guests. The entrance to the worship center is on the lower level off of the parking lot. Once you enter there is an information center to your left where a person will be able to address your questions and needs. The worship center is immediately to your right.
The nursery (currently closed during the pandemic) which is professionally staffed, sanitary and secure is directly in front of you. Our restrooms are to your left. Then keep going left into our fellowship hall where brunch is served and friendships are formed. The stairs are to your right in the fellowship hall which will take you to our children’s worship center for those of elementary age. Don’t worry. There will be a greeter to help you find your way.
Online?
Our worship services are streamed live on our Facebook page. You can of course participate at any time later as well on that page. Plus, you can find the worship videos on this website here.
We have fellowship and communication opportunities through our Facebook group and a church app (contact Pastor Musselman for an invitation to join). As you can note above, there are a number of spiritual development activities available through online resources. Announcements about our congregation are available on the website here.
It’s really helpful if you react and/or make comments on videos so that we might get to know you. Indeed, planning your experience is vital for a positive online participation. We promise not to pursue you more than you desire. Sharing your contact information with us is a great gift and step toward discovering new friends in a faith community.
Are You Ready?
