How does Baptism work at Our Savior’s?
We baptize people at any age using a baptismal font during worship where we pour water over the head of the person being baptized.
Do you have Confirmation?
Yes, Confirmation is offered to middle school age people on the third Sundays of the month at 5 p.m. in the lower level fellowship hall as they move toward becoming an adult follower of Jesus.
Who can participate in Communion?
We believe that all followers of Jesus are welcome to come to Communion. Normally, a person would be baptized first before participating in Communion.
How does Communion work at Our Savior’s?
Sometimes there will be bread or a bread wafer along with an individual cup. Many times we do what is called intinction. You receive the bread and dip it into a cup. Then you eat it. We offer an option of either wine or grape juice.
Are children welcome in worship?
It is vital for children to learn how to worship much like we learn our native language. It is up to the parents to decide if you would like the children to worship with you or to join our 10:30 a.m. children’s worship in the nursery for people through Kindergarten and upstairs for those in grades 1-5.
What about children and Communion?
Like with Baptism, there is no age requirement. A short orientation is available for children who would like to start receiving Communion. Until that time they will receive a verbal blessing.
How does one become a member?
The membership covenant forms the basis for defining what it means to be a member in our congregation. Being a member is a profound commitment between fellow followers of Jesus.
